It is powered by two PS-90A turbofan engines. The aircraft has a cruising speed of 850 km/h and a range of 6,500 km.
The manufacturer is the foundational Russian aerospace design bureau, OKB Tupolev (now part of United Aircraft Corporation). Tupolev’s history began in 1922, founded by Andrey Tupolev. The bureau is known for pioneering both strategic military aircraft, like the famous Tu-95, and commercial airliners, such as the Tu-154 and the Tu-204/214 series. Production of the Tu-214PU is limited, with sources indicating that around three to six units have been manufactured and delivered. The program is part of Tupolev’s continuing efforts to provide modern, versatile platforms for government and military use, ensuring strategic connectivity and control from the air.
