Tu-142М

The Tupolev Tu-142M is a variant of the Tu-142 maritime patrol and anti-submarine warfare aircraft. Its development by the Tupolev design bureau was a response to the threat posed by U.S. Navy ballistic missile submarines in the late 1950s.

Tupolev, a foundational Soviet aviation design bureau established in 1922, designed the Tu-142 based on the Tu-95 airframe. Manufacturing occurred between 1968 and 1994 at the Kuibyshev Aviation and Taganrog Machinery Plants. The aircraft, introduced in December 1972, features highly sophisticated combat avionics and a large payload, allowing it to effectively trail submarines. The Tu-142M is an incremental improvement over earlier versions, leading eventually to the final long-range Tu-142M3 variant. It currently remains in service with the Russian Navy, having historically served with the Soviet Navy and the Indian Naval Air Arm.

Maintenance access for this large aircraft requires dedicated access solutions. Platforms and stands support detailed work around the Wing & Engine Pylon section for engine maintenance (Inlet/Exhaust, Fan, Compressor, Turbine, Hydraulics, Fuel Tanks/Pumps, Undercowl). Access is also necessary for the Nose Section (Windshield & Cockpit, Bulkhead), Landing Gear, and AFT Fuselage (APU Compartments). Dedicated access products facilitate thorough inspection and repair across all aircraft sections.
