T-6 Texan II

The T-6 Texan II is a single-engine turboprop aircraft, primarily used for training pilots in the US Air Force and Navy. It is a foundational component of the Joint Primary Aircraft Training System (JPATS).

Beechcraft, the manufacturer, has a long history in aviation, originally founded in 1932. Beechcraft, a division of Raytheon at the time, was awarded the JPATS acquisition and support contract on February 5, 1996, leading to the development and production of the T-6 Texan II. The first operational T-6A arrived at Randolph Air Force Base, Texas, in May 2000. The aircraft remains a critical training platform today.

A range of platforms and access solutions are utilized for maintenance on the T-6 Texan II. Access equipment, including modular stepover platforms, trestle scaffold systems, and cantilever platforms, address needs across the aircraft.

For the Nose Section, access equipment supports work on the radome, antenna, nose avionics, windshield, cockpit, and bulkhead. Solutions facilitate access to the Forward Fuselage sections, including the main entry door, cargo/baggage area, and the environmental control system. For the Landing Gear, access is ensured for both the Nose Landing Gear and Main Landing Gear.

In the Middle Fuselage and Wing Box Area, equipment supports maintenance on the wing box, fuel tanks, oil systems, and cabin interior. Access for the Wing and Engine Pylon, including the engine, hydraulics, and fuel systems, is also addressed. For the AFT Fuselage and Tail Section (Empennage), platforms enable access to the rear bulkhead, avionics, vertical stabilizer, and rudder.
