The SU-26MX is an export variant of the Sukhoi Su-26, a single-seat aerobatic aircraft renowned for its unparalleled performance in competition flying. The Su-26 design is a product of the Russian company Sukhoi, which has a foundational history in aviation, known primarily for its high-performance military aircraft. Sukhoi developed the Su-26 to meet the rigorous demands of unlimited-class aerobatics.
The original Su-26 first flew in June 1984. It features a welded steel truss fuselage and a powerful radial reciprocating engine. A key evolution was the Su-26M variant, which debuted in 1985 and introduced a high-strength composite wing to withstand extreme forces, engineered for up to +12g loads. The Su-26MX variant facilitated the aircraft’s adoption by international aerobatic teams, including those in the United States by the mid-1990s.

Solutions such as Reach Deck Platforms, Modular Stepover Platforms, and Super Trestle Scaffold provide safe elevation for access to the Nose Section (Windshield & Cockpit, Bulkhead), Landing Gear (NLG and MLG), and General Access across the fuselage. Other access systems, including the Ultraraise and Easyraise, support work on the Wing Box and engine components, addressing the need for precise access to areas like the Undercowl and engine inlet/exhaust during essential maintenance routines.
