The SR22 is a single-engine, four- or five-seat composite aircraft manufactured by Cirrus Aircraft. It is a development of the earlier Cirrus SR20, featuring a larger wing, greater fuel capacity, and a more powerful engine. Production began in 2001, and the SR22 has consistently been the best-selling general aviation airplane worldwide since 2002. A foundational safety feature of this aircraft is the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS), the first whole airframe parachute system included as standard equipment on a certified general aviation aircraft.
Cirrus Aircraft was founded by brothers Dale and Alan Klapmeier, starting in 1984 with the development of the VK-30 kit plane. In the mid-1990s, the company shifted focus to the certified SR20, followed by the SR22. This shift solidified the company’s commitment to composite materials and integrated safety systems, establishing it as a leader in general aviation innovation.
A variety of maintenance and access platforms are pertinent to the SR22. Platforms like Reach Deck Platforms, Modular Stepover Platforms, and Super Trestle Scaffold are invaluable for accessing the Wing & Engine Pylon area, facilitating engine maintenance (Inlet/Exhaust, Undercowl) and addressing anti-ice systems. These same solutions, along with Super Service Stands and Platform Ladders, also provide necessary height for detailed work on the Tail Section (Vertical and Horizontal Stabilisers, Rudder) and the upper portions of the Forward Fuselage and Nose Section (Antenna, Windshield & Cockpit). For work around the Landing Gear (NLG and MLG), various stands and trestle options offer stable, precise positioning. The Bridge Deck and Cantilever Platform designs are ideal for maximizing reach over the fuselage and wing box area, aiding in tasks related to fuel tanks and cabin access without touching sensitive surfaces. The use of specialized trolleys ensures efficient mobility for essential equipment near all major airframe sections.
