The SA227-CC is an interim turboprop aircraft model within the Fairchild Swearingen Metroliner lineage, which became a foundational regional airliner and utility transport. Fairchild, known for its deep history in American aviation, manufactured this aircraft. The Metroliner series originated with designs by Ed Swearingen, dating back to the 1960s, before full production was taken over by Fairchild. The SA227-CC was a limited production variant, incorporating TPE331-11U engines. Only five units of the SA227-CC were built, making it a relatively rare step in the evolution of the Metro 23 series.
