SA226-TC

The SA226-TC, commonly known as the Metro II, is a twin-turboprop airliner foundational to regional commuter aviation. This pressurized aircraft is known for its slender fuselage and efficient operation, making it a reliable workhorse for transporting passengers and cargo.

Swearingen Aviation’s history is rooted in the vision of Ed Swearingen, a highly respected aircraft designer. His initial work involved modifying and improving existing aircraft. Founded in the 1960s, the company began developing its own designs, leading to the successful Merlin and Metro series. The SA226-TC Metro II followed the initial Metro I, entering service and cementing the manufacturer’s legacy in the light transport category. Over the years, the design lineage continued through various iterations and under different corporate ownerships, yet the SA226 airframe remains a respected and enduring part of commuter fleets globally.
