S-205/18F

The SIAI Marchetti S.205 is an Italian four-seat, single-engine light airplane, conceived by head designer Alexander Brena in 1964 as a versatile light trainer and touring aircraft. The S.205 is an all-metal, low-wing monoplane. The S-205/18F configuration was among the initial prototypes, with the first of these achieving its maiden flight on May 4, 1965. SIAI-Marchetti manufactured the aircraft primarily at its Sesto Calende factory in Italy from 1966 to 1980, building approximately 620 S.205s total.

A range of platforms and access solutions are utilized for maintenance around this aircraft. Items like the Modular Stepover Platforms and Bridge Deck provide general access (AF-BF) and solutions for the landing gear (NLG and MLG). Cantilever platforms and Super Service Stands offer technicians access for thorough work on the nose section (radome, antenna, avionics, cockpit) and forward fuselage, including the main entry door and forward wheel well access.

Specialized stands and scaffold systems, such as the Super Trestle Scaffold and Super Maintenance Platform, are employed for complex tasks. These facilitate access to the middle fuselage/wing box area for fuel tank and oil maintenance, as well as the wing and engine pylon sections. The latter includes maintenance on the engine inlet/exhaust, fan, and hydraulics. Access equipment is also vital for the tail section (empennage), ensuring essential maintenance on the vertical and horizontal stabilizers is performed safely and efficiently.
