S-1

The S-1 is the foundational single-seat model of the legendary Pitts Special aerobatic biplanes. Designer Curtis Pitts created the original S-1 concept in 1943–44. The aircraft gained fame for its agility and high performance, dominating world aerobatic competition throughout the 1960s and 1970s.

The manufacturer, PITTS Aviation Enterprises, was established by Curtis Pitts in 1962, initially to sell plans for the S-1C model to homebuilders. Over time, various companies, including Aerotek and later Aviat, Inc., took over production and further developed the Pitts line, but the S-1 design remains the standard for advanced aerobatic performance.

A variety of platforms and access solutions support detailed maintenance for this aircraft. These products, including various platforms and scaffolding, provide access to critical areas such as the Nose Section (Windshield & Cockpit, Bulkhead), Landing Gear (Main Landing Gear), Wing & Engine Pylon (Engine, Fuel Tanks/Pumps), and the Tail Section (Vertical Stabiliser, Horizontal Stabiliser, Rudder), ensuring thorough inspections and service.
