The PA-31T Cheyenne is Piper Aircraft’s foundational turboprop, first launched in 1974. Derived from the successful PA-31 Navajo, the Cheyenne established a new standard for pressurized, twin-engine business aircraft. Production ran from 1974 to 1985, resulting in 823 units built. The PA-31T also played a significant role in the company’s history, with a Cheyenne marking Piper’s 100,000th aircraft produced. This model later led to the development of the high-performance PA-42 Cheyenne III and IV.
The history of the manufacturer, Piper Aircraft, dates back to 1927 as the Taylor Brothers Aircraft Manufacturing Company. William T. Piper purchased the company in 1937 and renamed it Piper Aircraft Corporation. Known for producing popular light aircraft like the Piper Cub, the company has maintained a foundational role in general aviation, relocating its primary operations to Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, and later establishing a large manufacturing division in Lakeland, Florida, in 1972.
A selection of access platforms and stands is available for thorough maintenance on the PA-31T. Products like the Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, and Cantilever Platform provide access for detailed inspection and repair across critical areas. These tools support maintenance on the Nose Section (Radome, Windshield & Cockpit), Forward Fuselage (Main Entry Door, Cargo/Baggage), Landing Gear, Middle Fuselage (Wing Box, Fuel Tanks, Oil Maintenance), Wing & Engine Pylon (Engine components, Anti-Ice, Hydraulics), AFT Fuselage, and the Tail Section (Vertical Stabiliser, Horizontal Stabiliser).
