PA-28-181

The PA-28-181, known as the Archer, is a foundational four-place, single-engine aircraft manufactured by PIPER Aircraft. It is a key member of the long-running PA-28 Cherokee family, renowned globally for pilot training and personal transport. The Archer is recognized for its fixed landing gear and is powered by a 180 hp Lycoming engine. The PA-28-181 model received its first certification in 1975 as the Archer II, notably featuring a tapered wing design, an evolution from the earlier straight-wing Cherokees.

PIPER Aircraft’s history dates back to 1937 when William T. Piper established the corporation and launched the iconic Piper Cub. The company has a long legacy of designing and manufacturing general aviation aircraft, with the PA-28 series debuting in 1960. The series remains in continuous production, establishing PIPER as an indispensable manufacturer in the global aviation industry.
