The PA-28-161 is a foundational light aircraft within the Piper PA-28 Cherokee family. Commonly known as the Warrior II, this four-place, fixed landing gear landplane was first certified in 1976. It features a tapered wing and is powered by a 160 hp Lycoming O-320 engine. The PA-28 series, which includes the PA-28-161, remains in production, making it one of the most highly produced aircraft in history. A two-place trainer variant, the PA-28-161 Cadet, was also successfully introduced to replace the PA-38 Tomahawk.
PIPER Aircraft’s history began in 1937 when William T. Piper established the company and introduced the legendary Piper Cub. From its beginnings, the company focused on accessible personal aviation and military trainers. The PA-28 series, first certified in 1960, is a cornerstone of the company’s long-standing success in general aviation.
A range of platforms and access solutions are utilized for thorough maintenance on this aircraft. These solutions—including the Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, Super Trestle Scaffold, Ultraraise, and Super Service Stand—aid in accessing critical sections. This access is necessary for the Nose Section (radome, antenna, nose avionics, windshield, cockpit, and bulkhead) and the Forward Fuselage (Main Entry Door, cargo/baggage, lighting systems, and cabin access). Platforms also support work around the Landing Gear, Wing, and Engine components, as well as the AFT Fuselage and Tail Section.
