PA-18-150

The PA-18-150 is a variant of the legendary Piper Super Cub, a light utility aircraft renowned for its short take-off and landing (STOL) capabilities. The PA-18 series, built by Piper Aircraft, succeeded the J-3 Cub and PA-11 Cub, offering significantly increased power and utility. The PA-18-150 specifically refers to the models powered by the 150 hp Lycoming O-320 engine, providing enhanced performance for tasks like bush flying, banner towing, and agricultural work.

Piper Aircraft traces its roots back to the Taylor Brothers Aircraft Company, which was acquired by William T. Piper in 1937 and rebranded. Piper Aircraft became one of the “Big Three” in general aviation manufacturing. The PA-18 Super Cub was introduced in 1949 and remained a foundational production model until 1983, with a brief reintroduction from 1988 to 1994, resulting in over 10,000 units built.
