MQ-9A Reaper

The MQ-9A Reaper, also known as Predator B, is a sophisticated Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) developed for multi-mission Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities over land or sea. It is powered by a Honeywell TPE331-10 turboprop engine. Key characteristics include a 66 ft (20m) wingspan, a length of 36 ft (11m), and a maximum takeoff weight of 10,500 lb (4763 kg). The MQ-9A features a triple-redundant flight control system and is capable of carrying a substantial payload, including the MTS-B EO/IR, Lynx Multi-mode Radar, and other systems across seven external stations. It can operate at altitudes up to 50,000 ft and boasts an impressive maximum endurance of 27 hours.

GA-ASI’s history traces back to the 1990s with the development of the Predator series, establishing the company as a key contributor to military and civil uncrewed aircraft operations. The MQ-9A has been widely adopted by multiple military forces, including the U.S. Air Force, the Royal Air Force, and the French Air Force.

Maintenance operations on the MQ-9A require specialized elevated access to reach critical components.
