Mi-24 Hind

The Mi-24 Hind is an attack helicopter with transport capabilities, developed by the Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant in the Soviet Union/Russia. Its first flight was in 1969, and it was introduced to service in 1972, based on the Mil Mi-8 design. The Hind is foundational for its dual role as a gunship and a limited troop transport. It remains in service globally, with over 2,648 units built since manufacturing began in 1969.

Mil, or Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant, is the manufacturer responsible for the Mi-24. The design bureau, officially named after Mikhail Mil, is a cornerstone of Russian and Soviet rotorcraft development. The company has a history of producing heavy-duty, reliable designs for military and civil use, ensuring the Mi-24’s continued operational status with numerous international air forces.

Access platforms and stands are indispensable for maintaining the Mi-24. Specialized access solutions, including modular stepover platforms, cantilever stands, and various platform ladders, allow detailed, methodical maintenance across the aircraft. These specialized structures are required for work on critical areas such as the rotor head, engine compartments, upper fuselage, and internal systems, which are accessed through panels often stressed to serve as maintenance work platforms.
