M3A

The M.3A Falcon Major is a 1930s British three/four-seat cabin monoplane. It was designed by Frederick George Miles and built by Phillips & Powis Aircraft Ltd, which was foundational to Miles Aircraft Limited. The M.3 Falcon design debuted in 1934, structurally similar to the earlier M.2F Hawk Major family, featuring a clean, low-wing monoplane design with a fixed, trousered main undercarriage.

The M.3A Falcon Major was the first production aircraft, flying in January 1935. This variant featured a wider fuselage for improved passenger comfort compared to the prototype. It was powered by a 130 hp de Havilland Gipsy Major piston engine. Due to the M.3A being somewhat underpowered, later versions, like the M.3B Falcon Six, were fitted with a 200 hp de Havilland Gipsy Six engine. A total of 36 M.3 Falcons were built.
