The HUNTER MK. T-75S is an export variant of the Hawker Hunter trainer aircraft, specifically developed for the Singapore Air Force. The Hawker Hunter itself is a legendary transonic British jet aircraft, initially designed in the late 1940s and introduced to service in 1954 as a highly maneuverable day interceptor. The Hunter design proved adaptable, leading to numerous variants, including two-seat trainers like the T.75S, which supported operational conversion for international users. Over 1,900 Hunters were built, ensuring its longevity in air forces globally long after its initial RAF service.
The manufacturer, Hawker Siddeley Aviation, was a powerful force in British aerospace. Formed through a series of mergers, including Hawker Aircraft and A.V. Roe and Company (Avro), Hawker Siddeley Group established itself in 1935. By the 1960s, Hawker Siddeley Aviation consolidated the group’s aircraft interests, producing celebrated designs from the Hunter to the Harrier. This foundational company eventually became a key component of what is now BAE Systems, reflecting a pivotal era in British aviation history.
A comprehensive range of platforms and access solutions assists with maintenance requirements across this aircraft. Modular Stepover Platforms and Bridge Decks provide access over the middle fuselage for work around the Wing Box or for internal Cabin Access. Cantilever Platforms and Platform Ladder Warthog units offer specialized reach for the forward fuselage, addressing areas like the Nose Avionics and Windshield & Cockpit. The Super Trestle Scaffold and Super Maintenance Platform are crucial for safe access to the Wing & Engine Pylon section, where detailed work is required on the Engine (Inlet/Exhaust) and Hydraulics. Dedicated equipment, such as Aviation Chock and Cone Trolleys, assists with general servicing requirements around the Landing Gear (NLG + MLG). For the Tail Section, including the Vertical Stabiliser and Rudder, taller platforms like the Ultraraise and Easyraise ensure thorough inspections can be conducted.
