The H225M Caracal, a long-range tactical transport helicopter, is manufactured by Airbus Helicopters. This military aircraft is derived from the Eurocopter AS532 Cougar and the civil H225 Super Puma 2. The aircraft, initially designated the EC725, first flew on November 27, 2000, and was introduced in February 2005. Airbus Helicopters, formed from the merger of Aérospatiale and DaimlerChrysler Aerospace AG (DASA), has a foundational history rooted in European aerospace collaboration. The company, formerly known as Eurocopter Group, is a key global player in the rotorcraft industry, delivering a range of helicopters for military, commercial, and parapublic use.
A variety of access solutions are available for this helicopter. These solutions, including deck platforms, modular stepover platforms, trestle scaffold, and cantilever platforms, address maintenance needs across the aircraft. Specific solutions facilitate access to the Nose Section components like avionics and the cockpit, and the Forward Fuselage for cargo and cabin access.
For the Landing Gear, access platforms support work on the Nose Landing Gear and Main Landing Gear. Middle Fuselage work, including maintenance on the wing box and fuel tanks, utilizes tailored access equipment. Complex areas like the Wing & Engine Pylon benefit from maintenance platforms for tasks on the engine inlet, turbine, and hydraulic systems. Platforms also enable work on the AFT Fuselage sections, such as the rear avionics and Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) compartments. The Tail Section, encompassing the stabilizers and rudder, also requires specialized access solutions.
