G-IV

The Gulfstream G-IV is a foundational long-range, wide-body business jet. Developed and built by Gulfstream Aerospace, this jet is a key part of the modern business aviation era. It was designed as an advanced, stretched-fuselage derivative of the earlier Gulfstream III.

The history of Gulfstream Aerospace dates back to 1958 with the first flight of the Gulfstream I, the world’s first purpose-built business aircraft. The company, a General Dynamics entity based in Savannah, Georgia, began work on the G-IV in March 1983. The first G-IV made its maiden flight on September 19, 1985, and received FAA certification on April 22, 1987. The G-IV entered operational service that same year.

Powered by two Rolls-Royce RB.183 Tay turbofans, the G-IV quickly gained recognition for its performance, setting 22 world records in its class during a westbound flight around the world in 1987. The model was later upgraded to the G-IV-SP (Special Performance) and then redesignated as the G400. Production of the series continued from 1985 until 2018, with over 900 aircraft built, establishing its indispensable position in corporate and government aviation.

Maintenance platforms and access solutions are available for this aircraft. These products support essential maintenance tasks across key sections, including the Nose Section (radome, avionics, and cockpit access) and the Forward Fuselage (main entry door, cargo, and wheel well access). Access tools also facilitate detailed work on the Landing Gear, Wing Box Area (fuel and oil maintenance), and the entire Wing & Engine Pylon assembly (engine components, hydraulics, and anti-ice systems). Furthermore, these access methods address requirements for the Aft Fuselage (bulkhead, cargo, and APU compartments) and the Tail Section (stabilizers and rudder).
