The G-164B, or Super B Turbine, is a durable agricultural biplane that began as the Grumman Ag Cat. Grumman designed the original G-164 in the 1950s specifically for crop dusting and spraying. The design was later purchased by Schweizer Aircraft, which continued production and development, evolving the aircraft into more powerful variants like the G-164B. Schweizer Aircraft was founded by the Schweizer brothers in 1937 and established a strong history in aviation, particularly with sailplanes and eventually the Ag Cat series, before being acquired by Lockheed Martin and later becoming part of other aviation entities.
The G-164B is known for its sturdy construction and significant payload capacity, capable of holding 400 US gallons in its hopper. Its design allows for operations in demanding agricultural environments worldwide.
A diverse range of access solutions supports detailed maintenance on this aircraft, addressing needs across critical sections. Working platforms and stands are used for access to the Nose Section (Windshield and Cockpit, Bulkhead) and Forward Fuselage. They are also indispensable for servicing the Landing Gear (Nose and Main), the Wing Box Area, and the Wing and Engine Pylon, enabling methodical inspection of the engine and related components. Furthermore, platforms assist with access to the AFT Fuselage and the Tail Section (Vertical and Horizontal Stabiliser, Rudder).
