F27 MK500

The F27 MK500 is a variant of the Fokker F27 Friendship, a foundational twin-turboprop airliner developed by the Dutch manufacturer Fokker during the early 1950s. The F27 was designed as a capable successor to piston engine-powered airliners like the Douglas DC-3.

The F27-500 model, which first flew in November 1967, featured an extended fuselage—1.5 meters longer than earlier versions—and returned to using the Dart Mk 528 engine, allowing accommodation for up to 52 passengers. Fokker built 580 F-27 planes from 1955 to 1986. The F27 ultimately developed into the Fokker 50, a virtually new aircraft with modern systems that subsequently replaced the F27 in production.
