The ERJ 140 is a regional jet aircraft developed and manufactured by Embraer, a leading Brazilian aerospace company. Embraer originated as a government initiative in 1969 to build a national aviation industry. The company grew quickly, achieving international recognition with successful military and civil designs. The ERJ family of twin-engine turbofan jets, including the ERJ 140, was introduced to compete in the regional jet market. The 44-seat ERJ 140 was first introduced in April 1997, developed from the 50-seat ERJ 145, and shares 95% parts commonality with the shorter ERJ 135.
Detailed, methodical maintenance is crucial for the ERJ 140. A range of access solutions support work across the aircraft. Platforms and stands, including Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, Super Trestle Scaffold, Ultraraise, Super Service Stand, Easyraise, Bridge Deck, Cantilever Platform, Aviation Chock and Cone Trolley, Super Maintenance Platform, Branach Fibreglass Platform, A Frame Aviation Platform, and Platform Ladder Warthog, address access and maintenance needs.
These products are suitable for accessing critical aircraft sections. This includes the Nose Section (Radome, Antenna, Nose Avionics, Windshield & Cockpit, Bulkhead), Forward Fuselage (Main Entry Door, Cargo/Baggage, Cabin Access, Environmental Control System, Forward Wheel Well Access), Landing Gear (NLG and MLG), Middle Fuselage / Wing Box Area (Wing Box, Fuel Tanks, Oil Maintenance, Cabin Interior, Emergency Exit), Wing & Engine Pylon (Pylon, Engine components, Hydraulics, Fuel Tanks/Pumps, Undercowl), AFT Fuselage (AFT Bulkhead, AFT Cargo, Rear Avionics, APU Compartments), and the Tail Section / Empennage (APU Intake/Exhaust, Vertical Stabiliser, Horizontal Stabiliser, Rudder). These platforms provide necessary height access for all maintenance areas.
