EC-130 Commando Solo III

The EC-130 Commando Solo III is an advanced airborne radio and television broadcast platform, evolved from the foundational C-130 airframe. This special operations aircraft performs psychological operations and civil affairs broadcasts. It succeeded the EC-130E Commando Solo, with the EC-130E entering service in 1978 and being replaced by the Commando Solo III variant in 2004. This military communications aircraft is essential for disseminating information in complex operational environments.

Lockheed Martin, the manufacturer of the EC-130, has a foundational history rooted in American aerospace pioneers. The corporation traces its lineage back to the early 20th century, with the Lockheed brothers and Glenn L. Martin being key figures in the establishment of the companies that would eventually merge. The company is now a paramount defense and aerospace contractor globally.

Access solutions aid maintenance needs across the aircraft. Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, Super Trestle Scaffold, Ultraraise, and Super Service Stands assist with access to the Middle Fuselage/Wing Box Area (Wing Box, Fuel Tanks, Oil Maintenance, Emergency Exit) and the Wing & Engine Pylon section (Engine, Inlet/Exhaust, Pylon, Flap, Fan, Compressor, Turbine, Hydraulics, Fuel Pumps, Undercowl). Easyraise and Bridge Deck stands are ideal for the Nose Section (Windshield & Cockpit, Radome, Antenna, Bulkhead) and Forward Fuselage (Main Entry Door, Cabin Access, Environmental Control System). Cantilever Platforms and A Frame Aviation Platforms are essential for the Tail Section (Vertical Stabiliser, Horizontal Stabiliser, Rudder, APU Compartments) and AFT Fuselage (AFT Bulkhead, Rear Avionics). Platform Ladder Warthog provides thorough access for General Access points. Aviation Chock and Cone Trolleys are indispensable for securing the aircraft during work on the Landing Gear (Nose and Main Landing Gear).
