E-3 Sentry

The E-3 Sentry is a foundational Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) aircraft, developed by Boeing. It provides all-weather surveillance, command, control, and communications capabilities. The E-3 is easily recognizable by its distinct rotating radar dome, or radome, mounted above the fuselage. The aircraft is built on the airframe of the Boeing 707 commercial jet.

Boeing, an American multinational aerospace corporation, is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of commercial jetliners and military aircraft. The Sentry program began engineering, test, and evaluation in October 1975, and the first E-3s were delivered in March 1977 to the U.S. Air Force.

Access solutions are available to support methodical maintenance across this large aircraft.
For the Nose Section (Radome, Antenna, Windshield & Cockpit, Bulkhead), the Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, and Branach Fibreglass Platform are used.
Forward Fuselage needs (Main Entry Door, Cabin Access, Forward Wheel Well Access, ECS) are addressed by the Super Maintenance Platform and Platform Ladder Warthog.
Landing Gear maintenance (Nose Landing Gear and Main Landing Gear) requires Cantilever Platform and Aviation Chock and Cone Trolley support.
Middle Fuselage / Wing Box Area access (Wing Box, Oil Maintenance, Cabin Interior, Emergency Exit) utilizes the Ultraraise and Easyraise.
For Wing & Engine Pylon access (Engine Inlet/Exhaust, Pylon, Flap, Fan, Compressor, Turbine, Hydraulics), the Super Service Stand and Super Trestle Scaffold are employed.
AFT Fuselage needs (APU Compartments, Rear Avionics, AFT Cabin Doors, AFT Bulkhead) are covered by the Bridge Deck and A Frame Aviation Platform.
Tail Section (Vertical Stabiliser, Horizontal Stabiliser, Rudder, APU Exhaust Port) maintenance uses the Modular Stepover Platforms and Bridge Deck.
