The CRJ1000 is a regional jet aircraft developed by Bombardier Aerospace, forming part of the widely adopted CRJ (Canadair Regional Jet) family. Bombardier, which developed the CRJ series from the Challenger 600 business jet, began production of the first generation CRJ100/200 in 1991. The CRJ series has been foundational in the regional air travel market. The CRJ1000 is the largest and final variant in this series, offering increased capacity and range compared to its predecessors. It was introduced to address the demand for more cost-effective, high-capacity regional transport, building upon the established success and reliability of the CRJ platform.
