BO105 DBS-4

The BO105 DBS-4 is a light, twin-engine, multi-purpose helicopter known for its operational versatility. It was groundbreaking upon its introduction in 1970 for being the world’s first light twin-engine helicopter and the first rotorcraft capable of performing aerobatic maneuvers, such as inverted loops. This aircraft is distinguished by its innovative hingeless rotor system. It is powered by two Allison 250-C20B turboshaft engines.

The BO 105 was manufactured by Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm (MBB), a German aerospace company formed from the merger of Messerschmitt and Bölkow. Production of the Bo 105 began under MBB, with the first flight occurring in 1967. The main production facilities were in Germany and Canada, with additional manufacturing lines in Spain, Indonesia, and the Philippines due to high export demand. Production ran from 1967 to 2001, resulting in over 1,600 units built.

A variety of platforms and access solutions are available for servicing this aircraft. Specialized solutions, including cantilever platforms and modular stepover platforms, assist with thorough maintenance needs across key areas like the main and tail rotors, engines, and fuselage sections.
