B737

The Boeing 737 is an American narrow-body jet airliner developed and produced by Boeing at its Renton factory in Washington. It is one of the most successful commercial aircraft in history, known for its reliability and versatility.

Boeing, a prominent U.S. aerospace company, began production of the 737 in 1966. The initial model, the 737-100, first flew in April 1967 and entered service with Lufthansa in February 1968. The aircraft was designed to serve shorter routes and smaller airports than its predecessors, such as the 707 and 727. The 737 family has evolved through four generations—Original (737-100/-200), Classic (737-300/-400/-500), Next Generation (737-600 to -900), and MAX. With over 12,000 units built, the 737 remains in production.

As a short-to-medium-range airliner, the Boeing 737 is a staple for airlines globally. It is used extensively by major carriers across all continents. Common locations and applications include high-frequency domestic and regional routes in North America (primary users include Southwest Airlines, United Airlines, and American Airlines), Europe (with Ryanair being a major operator), and Asia. Its continuous evolution has kept it relevant in a competitive market, making it the most widely used narrowbody aircraft worldwide, competing primarily with the Airbus A320 family.
