The Beechcraft A23-19 is part of the Musketeer line, first introduced in 1966 as a lower-powered trainer variant of the Model 23. Also known as the Model 19 Musketeer Sport, this aircraft was powered by a 150 bhp Lycoming O-320-E2C engine. It features a simplified design compared to its sibling, lacking the third side window. The A23-19 served primarily as an effective two-seat trainer with additional capacity for baggage, upholding the manufacturer’s commitment to durable airframes.
Beechcraft was established in Wichita, Kansas, in 1932 by Walter and Olive Ann Beech, along with Ted A. Wells. They quickly became one of the “Big Three” general aviation manufacturers. Their first aircraft, the Model 17 Staggerwing, was an instant success. Throughout its history, Beechcraft introduced iconic designs like the Bonanza and the King Air. The company has since evolved through various ownerships, including Raytheon Company and Goldman Sachs, and is currently part of Textron Aviation, continuing its legacy of manufacturing reliable piston and turboprop aircraft.
