The 550 model is part of the Cessna Citation family of business jets. The Citation II (Model 550), a larger, stretched version of the original Model 500, began production in 1978. Cessna later reintroduced the 550 alongside the improved Citation S/II. The Citation Bravo, another 550 variant, emerged in 1995 with updated avionics and Pratt & Whitney Canada PW530A turbofans.
