480B

The 480B is a turbine-powered helicopter produced by Enstrom. It is widely used for training, private transport, and military surveillance. Developed from the three-seat Enstrom 280FX piston helicopter, the four to five-seat 480B was specifically designed to meet the requirements of the U.S. Army’s New Training Helicopter (NTH) program. Although it did not win the contract, the 480B proved successful in the commercial market and entered production in 1993. The helicopter is powered by a Rolls-Royce 250-C20W engine, which gives it reliable performance.

Enstrom Helicopter Corporation has a history dating back to 1959 when Rudy Enstrom founded the company in Menominee, Michigan. The firm has consistently focused on designing and manufacturing light, piston- and turbine-powered helicopters known for their unique unblocked tail rotor system and exceptional safety record.
