280C

The Enstrom 280C is a light, single-engine piston helicopter introduced in 1975, powered by a Lycoming HIO-360-E1AD engine equipped with a turbocharger. It features a three-bladed, fully articulated rotor, a two-bladed tail rotor for directional control, and a fixed skid gear. The 280C belongs to the F-280 series, which evolved from the earlier F-28A.

Enstrom Helicopter Corporation was founded in 1959 with the goal of designing and selling small, reasonably priced helicopters. The prototype of their first helicopter, the F-28A, first flew in 1962 and received certification in 1968. The company has a foundational history in manufacturing private helicopters, with later variants like the F-280FX representing the current production models.

A variety of working platforms and access solutions support methodical maintenance across the 280C. These solutions, including Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, Ultraraise, and Super Service Stand, facilitate access to all critical aircraft sections. This includes the Nose Section (Radome, Antenna, Avionics, Windshield & Cockpit, and Bulkhead), the Forward Fuselage (Cabin Access, Cargo/Baggage, and Lighting Systems), and the Landing Gear areas. Access platforms are also vital for servicing the Middle Fuselage and Engine components, ensuring detailed inspections of the engine, its components, and related systems. For the Tail Section, platforms support access to the Vertical and Horizontal Stabilizers and the Rudder.
