140

The Cessna 140 is a classic two-seat, light personal aircraft. It was first introduced by Cessna Aircraft Company shortly after World War II to meet the booming demand for civilian planes. This model, along with the companion Model 120, helped re-establish Cessna as a major force in general aviation.

Cessna, founded in 1927 by Clyde Vernon Cessna, has a foundational history built on accessible and reliable high-wing designs. The Wichita, Kansas-based company became renowned for its durable aircraft. The 140, first flying in 1945 and entering production in 1946, featured metal wing construction (later models featured all-metal construction) and quickly became a popular taildragger. Nearly 8,000 units of the 120, 140, and 140A series were manufactured during its five-year production run, from 1946 to 1951, cementing its enduring popularity among private owners.

Specialized platforms and access apparatus are utilized for maintenance across various aircraft sections. The A Frame Aviation Platform or Cantilever Platform provides access for work on the Nose Section and the Forward Fuselage, aiding with avionics and cockpit maintenance. For the Landing Gear and Wing Box Area, modular stepover platforms or Super Maintenance Platform offer essential access for fuel system checks and wing maintenance. For the Tail Section and AFT Fuselage, the Super Service Stand provides first-class height and reach for servicing stabilizers and rear avionics.
