Rockwell International

Rockwell International’s predecessor, Rockwell Manufacturing Company, was founded in 1919 by Willard Rockwell. In 1973, it combined with aerospace products and was renamed Rockwell International, operating as a major conglomerate until its dissolution in 2001. The company split into several entities, including Rockwell Automation and Rockwell Collins (now part of Collins Aerospace).

Historical products include significant aircraft and spacecraft such as the Rockwell B-1 Lancer, North American Rockwell OV-10 Bronco, Fuji/Rockwell Commander 700, and the Space Shuttle orbiter program (including *Endeavour*), along with the Apollo Command and Service Module (initially under North American Aviation).

Current products are mainly provided by its spin-offs: Rockwell Automation specializes in industrial automation and information, and Rockwell Collins/Collins Aerospace provides aviation and military electronics.
