Flugzeugwerk Ceskomoravska - Kolben - Danek

FLUGZEUGWERK CESKOMORAVSKA – KOLBEN – DANEK (ČKD) was a major Czechoslovak industrial conglomerate, active across many sectors including manufacturing, machinery, and electrical engineering. Its “Flugzeugwerk” division refers to its historical involvement in aircraft production.

While ČKD as a whole produced a wide array of goods over its history (including locomotives and machinery), its aircraft division contributed primarily historically, particularly in the interwar period and during World War II under German control (as part of the Prague-based BMM/ČKD group). Well-known historical products include cooperation on various aircraft types and components. Today, the name largely refers to the historical industrial entity, as the original ČKD dissolved after privatization, with various successor companies operating in different industrial fields.
