Canadian Car and Foundry

Canadian Car and Foundry (CC&F), or Can Car, was a prominent Canadian manufacturer of railway rolling stock, streetcars, buses, and aircraft. While the company no longer exists in its original form, its historical significance is notable, particularly in aviation. CC&F is best known for producing the Hawker Hurricane fighter aircraft under license during World War II, as well as developing the CC&F FDB-1 fighter and the Norseman utility transport aircraft. In public transit, they manufactured streetcars, including the Brill and trolley bus models, and the “Can-Car” line of buses. The company’s operations were eventually absorbed by other manufacturers, meaning there are no current products under the original CC&F name.
