EASA Approves Vietnam’s VAECO

The tourism industry in Vietnam has expanded rapidly since its initial surge in the mid-90s. And carriers such as Vietnam Airlines have built a successful story on the increase in visitors – 1,351,300 in 1995 to 10,012,735 in 2016.

In a report from MRO Network this week, the aviation industry in Vietnam has this week seen a big new step towards aircraft maintenance autonomy, that will help with running Vietnam’s most lucrative industry more efficiently.

Vietnam Airlines Engineering Company (VAECO)—Vietnam Airlines’ maintenance subsidiary—have been granted approval by EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) to carry out maintenance on European-registered aircraft locally. This comes after VAECO’s approval by the FAA in 2011 for USA-registered aircraft.
